Where did our intrepid Warp Zone hosts come from? Find out below.
Brian
Patrick For as
long as he could remember, Brian always wanted to be in broadcasting.
As a boy, he would produce "radio shows" with an old cassette recorder
that he carried with him at all times. After Brian saw Star Wars
for the first time, he knew that science fiction was his calling. George
Lucas and David Letterman were two of his biggest role models.
While in college, Brian got a job at KFH radio doing traffic and running
the audio board. He never looked back. While producing a few local talk
shows, Brian came up with the idea of a sci-fi oriented talk show and
thus, The Warp Zone was born.
Cris
Murphy Cris Murphy started out listening to his brother, former newsman Patrick Murphy, on The Warp Zone. After a brief stint at working the phones (to which, thankfully, we have forgotten), Cris moved on to co-host the show and offered his famous Sci-Fi Video/DVD Pick of the Week. With his brother gone, Cris has taken the news mantle and reports the latest news and rumors grinding the Sci-Fi mill. Cris is a working screenwriter and video producer (and not THOSE kind of videos) and offers his insight on Hollywood and entertainment, reviews the latest movies hitting theatres, and occasionally offers more of his Sci-Fi Vid Picks.
Carolyn
Carolyn
joined The Warp Zone in April of '97 as the intern/call screener
before becoming an associate producer of the show. Her parents raised her
on Star Trek, Buck Rogers, Battlestar Galatica, and
Star Wars. She practically lives for science fiction. The Warp Zone
gave Carolyn her first real chance to work where she always wanted to work:
a little in front of the world, a lot behind the scenes. Carolyn's current
science fiction interests are Stargate SG-1, Buffy:The Vampire
Slayer, and Angel, with the occasional Babylon 5 tape thrown
in for good measure. She is willing to do almost anything to make The
Warp Zone all it hopes to be.
Frank
Keith Frank
is the former co-host of The Warp Zone. Although he's not with
us on a week-to-week basis, he will be filling in when we need him.
Frank is an accomplished actor, and many local and regional theatres
have made use of his talents. For the last decade, he has managed a
chain of comic book/game stores called Agents of C.O.M.I.C.S.
which keeps him informed and allows him to keep in tune with the fans
of science fiction and fantasy. Frank's love of the genre began early
with television shows such as The Twilight Zone and Star Trek
and a membership in the original Science Fiction Book Club.
